Join our guided spotlight tour to discover the hidden secrets of Tidbinbilla at night. Offering outstanding wildlife and natural experiences, Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve is set within a beautiful valley framed by rocky-topped mountains.
Tid after Dark is an opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of the Australian bush at night. At dusk the reserve comes to life with some of Australia’s unique and iconic wildlife. With our experienced volunteer guides you’ll discover the natural wonders of this special reserve and the chance to see possums, kangaroos, koalas, long-nosed potoroos, eastern bettongs and critically endangered southern brush-tailed rock wallabies in the wild.

Welcome and overview with our local and experienced volunteer guide.
Evening guided spotlight walk through the sanctuary – keep your eyes and ears open for nocturnal wildlife. The guided walk will take approximately 2.5 hours and is easy walking at the groups pace. Tidbinbilla offers the chance to see Australia’s iconic wildlife including kangaroos, wallabies, koalas and emus, as well as more unique species such as the brush-tailed rock wallabies, long-nosed potoroos and eastern bettongs.
Group farewell and depart Tidbinbilla via your own transport.
Please note that while we encourage photos to support our best practice spotlight practices we ask that no flash photography is used on the nocturnal tour.
This program is rated easy. We will be walking for approximately 3 kilometres.
What to bring
A good pair of enclosed walking shoes, warm clothing, hat, fleece or jacket as evenings can be cool, rain jacket in wet weather, your camera, a personal torch if required (for walking back to your vehicle after the tour), a personal water bottle and light refreshments.
All of Naturewise’s Eco Escapes allow you to play a vital role in the conservation of our natural environment, while enjoying some of Australia’s most spectacular places. This tour support Tidbinbilla’s endangered species breeding programs for the critically endangered Northern Corroboree Frog and the Southern Brush-tailed Rock-wallaby.

This spotlight tour departs from the Ribbon Gum Car Park at Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve in the ACT.
All prices are for a 2.5 hour tour.
