Located in Queensland’s Great Sandy Region, Fraser Island is renowned for its natural beauty, desert-like sandblows, wildlife and pristine freshwater lakes and streams. On our Naturewise Friends of Parks Program you’ll explore this iconic and stunning National Park while assisting Park Rangers with conservation activities such as marine debris surveys, weed removal, tree planting, clearing walking tracks and wildlife monitoring.

7.30am pick up from Brisbane City and travel to Fraser Island. Enjoy some local sights before arriving at our National Park campground. Set up camp and dinner under the stars. LD
Help Conservation Volunteers and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Rangers to conserve Fraser Island. Activities vary through-out the year and may include marine debris surveys, weed removal and mapping, tree planting, track maintenance and wildlife monitoring. During the afternoon explore iconic sights such as The Maheno ship wreck, Pinnacles, Eli Creek, Lake Birrabeen and Lake Garawongera. BLD
Transfer back to Brisbane city for estimated return time of 7pm. BL

Moderate fitness levels required. This tour involves walking on soft uneven sand. We will be travelling in areas not immediately accessible to medical assistance.

Naturewise Eco Escapes contribute to wildlife conservation and offer you the opportunity to explore outstanding national parks and conservation reserves. Each morning you will help Conservation Volunteers and Park Rangers to protect the World Heritage Listed Fraser Island National Park. Conservation activities may include marine debris surveys, weed removal, tree planting, clearing walking tracks and wildlife monitoring.
Location and Transportation
This holiday is located at Fraser Island
You will be transported from Brisbane in a sideward facing 4WD. Fraser Island is a sand Island and travel around the island can be bouncy each and rough ride. This program may not be suitable for people with back problems.
You will be camping in the World Heritage Listed Fraser Island National Park. Single or twin share tents and stretcher beds provided. Please bring your own sleeping bag and bath towel. Shared bathroom amenities include hot showers and flush toilets.
